Artist Statement
I love the art that nature creates.
From decay and distress, time and exposure, the very soul of an element is revealed. Concrete cracked and stained; rusted metal posts; shells worked over by the sea until they are stripped down to their essence.
Through a continuing exploration of what is at the heart of myself and my own existence, I move closer to translating what I feel and who I am in relation to the universe.
Bio
A native of Los Angeles, Chris has enjoyed a successful career in the film industry for the last two decades.
Chris began painting in 2006. She is self-taught and her creative process is unconventional and unique, incorporating texture, lines and a natural color expression.
Now residing in Austin Texas, Chris travels periodically for film work and devotes the rest of her time to painting and playing with her beloved dogs Jack and Nikki.
