About the Artist

Artist Statement

I love the art that nature creates. From decay and distress, time and exposure, the very soul of an element is revealed. Concrete cracked and stained; rusted metal posts; shells worked over by the sea until they are stripped down to their essence.

My paintings strive to emulate this natural occurrence in an attempt to investigate the genesis of creation on a fundamental level.

Through a continuing exploration of what is at the heart of myself and my own existence, I move closer to translating what I feel and who I am in relation to the universe.

The ongoing and evolving series “Vocabulations” is the artist’s response to the current sociopolitical, religious and corporate climate that is shaping the future of this country. Dense with texture, phrasing, and satire, these works deliberately mimic the freedom of random expression found in street art.
